On 21 December 2011 in the Official Gazette no. 299 was published the Decree 6 December 2011.

 

This modifies the Decree of November 3, 2004 concerning the installation and maintenance of devices for opening doors installed along escape routes, in relation to safety in the event of fire.

Article 1 point 1 of this Decree highlights that:

"In article 1 of the Decree of the Minister of the Interior of 3 November 2004, the words <<for the purposes of issuing the fire prevention certificate>> are replaced by the following <<as per attachment 1 of the Decree of the President of the Republic 1 August 2011, no. 151>>

while in Article 2 point 1 it is highlighted that:

"In Article 5 of the Decree of the Minister of the Interior of 3 November 2004, the words <<six years>> are replaced by the following <<eight years>>. The cases for which the replacement of the opening devices are expected remain unchanged manual of the doors installed along the escape routes and the obligation to guarantee the maintenance of their original functionality, referred to in the aforementioned article 5, also through the certification of a qualified technician.

We remind you that following this decree, the deadline for the replacement of panic bars has been postponed to February 2013.
