"Fire prevention technical rule for active fire protection systems installed in activities subject to fire prevention controls": the new D.M. 20 December 2012.

The new decree on active fire protection systems published in the Official Gazette No. 3 of 4 January 2013, will enter into force on 4 April 2013.

The decree governs:
- the design;
- the construction,
- the installation,
- the maintenance of the following installations installed in activities subject to fire prevention controls (All. I of DPR 151/2011):
- fire detection and fire alarm systems,
- automatic or manual fire extinguishing or control systems,
- smoke and heat control installations.

The decree applies to new plants and those already existing on 4 April 2013 in the event that they undergo a change of type "substantial" and then a transformation of the type of plant and/ or an increase in its typical size of more than 50%.
